A 6- hour bandh hit normal life at Attabira town in Bargarh district on Wednesday. It was called by the general public of Attabira due to the negligence in duties by police in nabbing the culprits of a temple heist.
The agitators staged road blockades by burning tyres at several places demanding immediate arrest of the thiefs who stole ornaments and other valuables of a Durga temple of Attabira town on September 2 night. The agitators alleged that though an FIR had been lodged and CCTV footage of the theft had been given to the Attabira police, the latter were developing cold feet in this regard.
