The State Government on Tuesday announced prohibition on sale and transportation of liquor and all kinds of narcotic items for two days before and one day after voting in the ensuing gram panchayat polls.
The Excise Commissioner has written to the district Collectors in this regard.
There would be no sale of any kind of such items at places like liquor shops, hotels, Panthashalas, eateries and private and public places, the Government said.
“Sale of all kinds of excise items has been banned for 48 hours before and 24 hours after the voting,” said Excise Deputy Commissioner MK Das.
