United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon will hold a live interaction with tribal students of the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) here through videoconferencing at 7.30 pm on Monday on the occasion of the International Youth Day.
He will hold discussions with the students of five schools from five continents on the occasion. It is a matter of pride that the KISS has been selected to represent Asia. The theme of the conversation will be ‘Good Education’ which will focus on the importance and quality of education, and how to make youth prioritise concrete action. Ban Ki-moon will also interact on different youth issues including health, education, good governance, youth livelihood, youth employment, science and drugs addiction. The UN already has sent questions for the 15-minute videoconference in which 50 KISS students will participate. The interaction with KISS students will focus on tribal girl child education in higher secondary level and how the KISS has helped the indigenous children realise their aspirations.
