The Government’s rehabilitation scheme — ‘Mo Jami Mo Diha’ — is a failure in Baleswar district. The genuine landless people and tribals are not getting the benefit of the scheme.
Due to failure to implement the guidelines under the Bhoodan and Gramdan movement poor tribals are forced to join Maoist camps, alleged Rajya Adivasi Harijan Kalyan Samiti president Damodar Das here. Das stated that due to the Bhoodan movement, while around 45 lakh acres of land had been acquired across the nation, in Odisha, around 13.5 lakh acres had been acquired.
However, due to lackadaisical approach of the State Government, the landless were deprived of land, while the rich grabbed it all, Das said and demanded resignation of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for the lapses.
