Baladejew Temple servitors here on Friday staged a protest beating gongs and demanded to reopen the temple. They said the Covid-19 pandemic has affected their livelihood badly as they are deprived of collection from devotees since devotees are restricted from entering the temple for last seven months.Most of the servitors are going through severe financial constraints, said Nrusingha Charan Patri, a servitor.
Though the Government has been providing financial assistance to several sections of the people hit by lockdowns, but for the servitors of Baladevjew temple there is no assistance, Patri lamented.
