Basing on an allegation of acquisition of disproportionate assets, Vigilance sleuths on Friday conducted raids on the houses of Balangir RW Division Assistant Executive Engineer Bijan Kumar Jena and different places and detected assets worth Rs 98,16,856 in his and his family members’ names.
Jena’s residential house at Bhagawati Nagarh, Bolangir and native house at Mangalpur under the Cuttack Sadar police station were simultaneously searched.
During The detected assets include a single storied building of Rs 10,83,000, another building of Rs 7,16,000, three plots worth Rs 5,32,500, hard cash of Rs 1,00,100, gold ornaments of Rs 16,59,000, household articles of Rs 10,69,651, two cars and two motorcycles worth Rs 10,70,000, insurance deposits of Rs 3,58,188, bank deposits of 32,28,417.
The enquiry was in progress, said an official release.
