The Union Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has nominated ITI Brahmapur into the core group of premier technical institutions, to work out modalities, suggest development measures, and to frame course modules and measures to improve the technical skills required for the industries as well as suggest new and innovative methods to impart state of the art training to students in the country, sources said.
The Skill Development Directorate of Government of India (General Training and National Projects Implementation Unit) recently constituted a high-powered 9-member team in which the Government ITI has been included which will advise and suggest the Ministry of Skill Development various measures for improvement in the country.This is a new and challenging responsibility for the institute, said the Principal of the Institute Dr Rajat Kumar Panigrahi. Notably, the Government ITI of Brahmapur is the only technical institution of Odisha included in this high-powered 9-Member expert team.
According to information available, the Union Ministry of Skill Development has given more stress on reforming and revamping the current vocational education and training system of the country that will generate more employability and to improve economy. Besides, the above newly formed 9-Member expert Team will identify the areas in the domain of skill development that require changes with innovative measures.
