The Brahmapur SP in a letter to the Bar Association, Ganjam and the Brahmapur Press Club has urged them to make common people of the city aware about the traffic rule.
The letter stated, “We all are aware that road traffic accidents have increased exponentially over the years. Today it's a matter of grave concern that Odisha has one of the highest rates of fatalities due to road accidents.”
Stating that disobedience of traffic rule is one of the major reasons for the alarming rate of fatalities he urged lawyers and journalists to cooperate in the mission for making roads safe.
On Thursday, SDPO BP Pati met Press Club working president Biwanath Patnaik and working secretary Chiranjit Rajguru and handed over the letter.
