Asha Das, wife of former Brahmapur Municipal Corporation (BeMC) Mayor Siba Shankar Das will make her political debut soon. On Sunday, Asha gave the green signal as she along with hundreds of women supporters went in a procession from her residence at Gosani Nuagaon here and participated in the BJP’s “Mo Parivar BJP Parivar” programme.
She alleged that the ruling BJD is getting her husband entangled in false cases and harassing her family. Besides, police are sending Siba Shankar to jail repeatedly on the instructions of BJD, she said. She said that her husband during his tenure as city Mayor carried out many developmental works. As the city residents have willingly acknowledged this, she has decided to serve them. However, it is yet to be decided for which post Asha will contest, but it is certain that she will contest the elections under the BJP banner.
