Students become absentminded by playing the dreaded Blue Whale game and turn a slave to the game by following its instructions, said senior journalist Goreknath Sahu at an awareness programme about the menace of the Blue Whale game by the Being Human Foundation at Tarbha.

Meditation is the only way to remove negative thoughts from mind, said Sahu.

AES College Principal Minati Mishra urged parents to monitor their children closely and inform police if they felt the children were isolating themselves and remain absent-minded. If police are informed on time, the students can be rescued and made normal, he added.

Being Human Foundation president Srikumar Mahanta warned students against downloading and playing the game and inform police if they came to know about it. The game involves a number of challenges which have to complete by the player in 50 days and it ends in the person committing suicide, he added. Guests of honour Suraj Kumar Sethi and Satyabrata Mishra also advised the students to stay away from this game.
