PNS

Violence against women has increased manifold in the contemporary society. Awareness among women about their various rights can remove such violence from the society.

“Women can take help of law, if they will be aware of various rights and services meant for them,” said former member of the State Women Commission Namrata Chadha at workshop on Violence against Women here on Monday.  Attending the workshop, organised by the People’s Cultural Centre (PECUC) in association with the

AlIBHA Elected Women Representative Federation, several youths, students and representatives from various women organisations raised their voices against violence against women. Women Commission member Snehanjali Mohanty said that many women are exposed to violence due to the absence of marriage registration and later called for registration of marriage at every panchayat level.

Presiding over the meeting, PECUC Executive Director Anuradha  Mohanty said that women should be conscious of various services meant for them to make a safer society for themselves.
