Avian flu scare grips Khordha again

PNS

The menace of bird flu has again gripped the Keranga village in Khordha district with several crows being found dead by the villagers at many places in the area on Saturday.

Sources said despite slew of measures by the district administration like culling of chicken and taking many safety measures, the unusual death of crows and some other birds has again triggered panic in the village, which was couple of months earlier hit by the flu.

Following the bird flu, the State Government had issued an alert and the Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Department had sent samples for laboratory tests. Chicken and egg sellers were badly affected as there were no takers for the poultry products.
