Sir,
At GGP Colony, Bhubaneswar, the conservancy lanes system designed in the 1980s has been in place. It was managed well all along since then, but now it needs special attention.
The conservancies have become unclean and unhealthy spots in different places as garbage dumping zones, storing of unwanted household materials, unauthorised temporary and permanent structures. They are also used as extended home utilities like embedded UGD, overhead electric wiring, telecom cables, private and public encroachments, wild growth of all kinds of shrubs, creepers, trees and many more.
I request the authorities concerned to evolve a functionally-viable and citizen-friendly policy for an ongoing maintenance and to upkeep the “Cleanest and Healthy City” free from causing and spreading epidemics and other diseases in future. It may be noted that a coordinated attention by BMC, BDA, PWD, CESU, Telecom and other public/ private organisations is of paramount importance.
