Four motorbike-borne youths attempted to abduct a 17-year-old college girl on broad daylight near the Chateswar Mahadev temple on the Chatara Chakroda village road while she was going to the Derabish College on Wednesday.
As per an FIR lodged by the girl, four youths, including Bhajanananda Swain and Nigamananda Swain of Nuagaon attempted to take her with their bikes. When she protested, they assaulted her and threatened, brandishing knife, to kill her family members if she would not go with them. However, when some locals came to her rescue hearing her scream, the youths fled from the spot after snatching her gold chain.
