The BJP on Friday alleged BJD Rajya Sabha member Pratap Keshari Deb’s hand in the egg attack on Union Minister Jual Oram at Rajkanika in the district on Wednesday.
The saffron party further questioned why the State Government has not arrested those involved in the incident even after passing of 48 hours.
BJP State Mahila Morcha leader Sujata Barik, speaking to the media here, said the party has decided to embark on a stir in coming days if no action is taken in the incident and the culprits are arrested.
She further said when Section 307 of IPC is clamped on people for hurling eggs at the Chief Minister’s vehicle, why action has not been taken in the Oram case under the Atrocities Act.
Refuting the charges as unfounded, BJD Kendrapara district general secretary Pradyumna Das said Deb was not in the district when the incident occurred, how he can be blamed for the incident.
