Arya becomes TMC State convener

If Odisha’s dissident Congress leaders do not get a berth in the ruling BJD, they have an entry into the Mamata Benerjee-led Trinamool Congress (TMC), which has opened its branch in the State.

A day after leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh and ClP secretary Anup Sai joined the Biju Janata Dal, another senior party leader Aryakumar Jnanendra resigned from the party on Sunday and joined the TMC and was designated as its Odisha unit convener. Jnanendra joined the TMC after meeting TMC supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata on the day. The TMC has decided to field candidates in four lok Sabha and 40 Assembly seats in the State.
