Arrest Bhushan boss under NSA, demands Congress

PNS

Senior Congress leader Narasingha Mishra on Monday demanded that the owner of Bhushan Steels limited (BSl) be booked under the National Security Act (NSA) for blatant violation of the labour and environment laws, besides instituting a CBI probe into the November 13 blast incident.

“The diktat of the company’s promoter runs in the plant in Dhenkanal district and the rules, regulations and laws of the Union and State Governments do not work there. The successive accidents in the plant have claimed 200 lives, while the State labour or Environment departments never took any legal step against the company. Neither the State administration nor the plant can exactly inform about the causalities though it is more than a week to the tragedy,” said Mishra, adding that the State Government should close the unit without delay for the interest of the State as well for the safety of the workforce. Further, he alleged that the promoter of the company is having nexus with the third floor of the State Secretariat.

Since the promoter has been on the run from the day of the explosion, the State Government should book him by invoking the provisions of the NSA with charges such as criminal negligence and murder, Mishra demanded. He also said that the CBI should be allowed to probe the incident.
