Former Minister and senior Congress leader Niranjan Patnaik held the State Government fully responsible for jaundice outbreak in Cuttack and demanded that it tender an apology to Cuttack denizens for negligence. “Jaundice has spread in Sambalpur and Cuttack due to State Government’s negligence. It didn’t take adequate measures on time to contain the situation at Sambalpur. Similarly, the Health Department didn’t take preventive measures soon after a jaundice case was detected at the SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack,” Patnaik said in a statement. Slamming the Chief Minister for not visiting Cuttack yet, Patnaik said the State Government should express deep concern over jaundice spread and tender apology to Cuttack residents for negligence.
