Actor-cum-politician Anubhav Mohanty on Monday filed his nomination papers as the BJD candidate for the lone Rajya Sabha seat from the State, for which elections will be held on June 19.
He filed his nominations in the presence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and several other Ministers. Patnaik was one of the proposers of Mohanty’s candidature.
The seat has fallen vacant after AU Singh Deo, who after being elected to the Rajya Sabha, was asked to resign and, instead, contest the Assembly polls from his old seat Balangir, which he failed to retain this time.
