The Higher Education Department on Thursday cancelled the placement of Abhaya Kumar Mohanty as English Reader following a departmental inquiry on his alleged submission of fake a certificate to get promotion.
The department stated that the placement of Mohanty as Reader with effect from January 2, 1997 in the scale of pay Rs 12,000-420-18,300 has been cancelled. Mohanty is father of Kendrapada BJD MP and actor Anubhav Mohanty. Earlier on June 3, 2021, the Government had withdrawn the extra pension benefits to the Mohanty over submission of the fake certificate to get promotion as Reader.
