We will form an organisation at national level to educate and awaken people from every corner of the country to elect good representatives,” said anti-graft crusader Anna Hazare at a Press conference here on Tuesday.
Anna said an organisation would be floated for the purpose and its name would be made public after the 2014 general elections. In every State, district and taluka, the local units of the organisation are to be set up taking people with good moral character to awaken the voters, said Anna, adding a team of 30-40 people has been chosen in the first phase to kick-start the work.
“We hope to get success by 2019 or by 2024. We will continue the campaign against the corrupt parties till they lose their existence with people having completely turned their back to them,” said the activist, adding that there is a need to create a situation where people genuinely rule over them.
Anna to sensitise voters to elect good representatives “In a republic, the citizens are everything and the possessor of the nation. As India became republic on January 26, 1950, the party system should have been abolished by now and instead, common people should have been at the centre of governance, but this didn’t happen. Due to the rise of parties, people are yet to get the real taste of democracy,” said Anna.
The anti-graft crusader said the lok Sabha has not remained an association of people but an association of parties. Corruption, loot, goondaism and other criminal activities will not end till the party-rule is stopped, he added.
“Today these parties have formed groups in every village and encouraged disputes among them which have blocked the progress of villages. The parties have created factions among the youths and sown seeds of casteism to gain votes,” said Anna, asking, “Then why we should not choose good representatives from the society instead of the candidates chosen by a partyIJ”
