Denied BJD ticket, former Minister and sitting MlA Anjali Behera has chosen to revolt against the party and its supremo Naveen Patnaik.
She filed her nomination papers as an Independent candidate for her Hindol constituency on Wednesday, the last day of the filing of nominations for the second and last phase polls in the State.A three-time MlA, Behera was denied BJD ticket presumably because of her links with Patnaik’s bete noire Pyarimohan Mohapatra.As many as 35 sitting BJD MlAs and six MPs have have been denied tickets this time. Most of them are likely to play a negative role in the party to the advantage of Opposition parties in their constituencies.
