The JSPL Foundation in association with ICDS, Angul, is observing the World Breastfeeding Week from August 1 at various Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) of the district. The theme of the year is ‘Protect Breastfeeding: A Shared Responsibility.’
As part of the observations, members from Janch Committee, mothers committee, lactating mother and pregnant women and adolescent girls are being sensitised by the JSPL Foundation along with local AWC workers and ASHAs on benefits of breast milk and how it works as an ideal nutritionfor infants. Community members and participants are also being informed and trained on how to keep their babies away from Covid virus. For proper care of the babies, the JSPL Foundation has been providing special utensils for use by participants.
