A large number of Hindu pilgrims interested for the annual Amarnath Yatra-2014 have blamed the State Government for its tardy process in submitting a list of authorised doctors, which is mandatory for issuing compulsory health certificate to pilgrims.
Notably, Shri Shri Amarnath Shrine Board had requested the State Government in October last year to provide the list of doctors in every district. However, the State Government particularly the Health Department is still sitting ideally by just issuing a letter to the subordinate offices for providing the list of doctor, alleged some pilgrims.
As per the procedure, the name of the authorised doctors will be reflected on the portal of Amarnath Shrine Board. As per schedule, the annual Amarnath Yatra, 2014 will commence from June 28, 2014 while the pilgrims were asked to register their names from March 1. The Odisha Government is yet to publish its list of authorised doctors while most of the States have submitted the same.
