Former Odisha Cashew Development Corporation Chairman and former BJD Jagatsinghpur district president AmarendraDas’ supporters organised a massive get-together at Alipingala under Jagatsinghpur block on Sunday.
This was the third such get-together of Das in the district in three months. The success of the get-togethers has sparked speculations about Das being a top contender for BJD ticket for the Jagatsinghpur Assembly constituency in the 2024 elections.
At the Sunday meeting, Das was accompanied by BJD leaders like former ZP President DebidattaMohanty, ex-Jagatinghpur block Chairman Prasanna Swain, Vice-Chairman Laxmidhar Swain, Sarpanches and Samiti Members, former PRI members, student leaders, educationists and social workers from several gram panchayats and mainly BJD supporters disgruntled with incumbent MLA PrasantaMuduli.
Das was taken to the meeting spot in a vast procession. Some Congress leaders from Sabhamula and Alipingala GPs joined the BJD expressing their confidence in Das’ leadership.
Das spoke about Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s success stories of governance.
His supporters urged the BJD higher-ups to give party ticket to him for the 2024 Assembly polls.
Political observers feel that if the BJD replaces present MLA PrasantaMuduli from Jagatsinghpur in the coming polls, Das is the best choice for the party.
