In view of traffic congestion, heavy rush and frequent accidents on the Jayadev Bihar-Nandankanan route here, the Government is planning alternative roads from National Highway-5 to Patia and Nandankanan.
The roads would be constructed from CRP Square to Nandankanan via Ekamra Kanan and Acharya Vihar to Patia via Sainik School. The Daya west canal road would be developed.
Chairing a meeting on Friday to discuss the proposals, Chief Secretary AP Padhi directed the General Administration Department, the Works Department and the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) to complete a survey for construction and interconnection of the proposed roads.
The Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) would prepare the road network project proposal on the basis of the Master Plan.
Meanwhile, the Government is also planning an elevated corridor on the 14-km Raj Bhavan-Nandankanan route. A survey is underway for the project.
