To resolve the long standing issue of land and building transfer from Government polytechnic to lN College, an all-party committee has been formed here.
A meeting in this connection was organised at the lN College in the chairmanship of Jharsuguda MlA Naba Kishore Das, Principal of the college, senior citizens of the town along with former student union presidents and one student outfit Chhatra Sangharsh Bahini members attended.
Prior to the meeting, the elected student union of the college staged a protest alleging that the members not invited to the meeting. They locked the main gate of the college in protest.
But with the support of Congress people, the Sangharsh Bahini broke the lock and organised the meeting. Keeping the prevailing tension, the Jharsuguda town police deployed police force to thwart any untoward incident. College governing body president and local MlA Das sought cooperation of all for smooth transfer of land and building.
In the newly formed committee, loksabha MP of Bargarh, MlA Brajrajnagar along with Principal and Sangharsh Bahini convener Manjur Alam are members.
