In post-poll violence, miscreants on Monday night allegedly killed a BJD supporter by attacking him with sharp weapons in Patrapur market under Ali police limits.
The deceased was identified as Ranjit Nayak (39), a resident of Kanapur.
Nayak had a quarrel with some Congress supporters on Saturday while they were bursting crackers near his house after victory of Congress in Aul seat. It is suspected that the attack was fallout of the incident. As mild tension gripped the area following the death of Nayak, Pattamundai SDPO Kedarnath Sahu and Kendrapara SP Rabi Narayan Behera rushed to the spot with police personnel. An inquiry was on.
