The All India Democratic Students Organisation (AIDSO) on Tuesday submitted a memorandum to the Vice-Chancellor of the Ravenshaw University demanding immediate steps for restoration of normalcy in the university campus. The students under the leadership of Ravenshaw University Committee (RUC) president Santosh Pathak submitted the memorandum.
They alleged that the VC with the active support of the ruling BJD had hatched a conspiracy to stop the Students’ Union poll in the university. Pathak said the students have been deprived of their democratic rights. He said the repeated violence on the campus has destroyed study atmosphere also. The students’ demands included holding of Students’ Union election, stopping of ruling party-instigated violence in the campus and punishment to the conspirators.
