Athagarh MlA Ranendra Pratap Swain was shown black flags and brooms during the BJD Jan Sampark Padyatra again on Tuesday.
Villagers of Mahisialanda and Berhampur under Tangi-Choudwar block protested Swain’s entry and showed black flags and brooms when the rally was being held on the last day of the Padayatra. The villagers shouted slogans against the MlA for his alleged misdeeds. However, they praised Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
Earlier on October 24, villagers of Sasanka under Chhagaon panchayat had opposed his visit to the area and showed brooms and sticks alleging his lackadaisical attitude to the village.
They had placed before him a four-point charter of demands like appointment of a regular PDS dealer, regular holding of Gram Sabha and Palli Sabha and development of the village at large.
