Police began an investigation with the help of a forensic team and a dog squad to unearth the mystery surrounding the death of the head of Ambapal village in Angul district who died after being allegedly administered a poisonous injection by unidentified miscreants a couple of days ago.
The deceased was identified as Balakrushna Nayak. The preliminary probe suggested that the incident was fallout of old enmity. .
The police team which reached the village for probe recovered two syringes used to administer Nayak with the poison. They also recovered a handwritten note from his room.
Nayak was asleep after dinner when three miscreants entered his house and injected him with poison and fled.
Family members spotted him in pain and rushed him to the District Headquarters Hospital. He was then referred to the SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack. However, he died on the way to Cuttack.
