Adhir’s remark on Prez rocks Assembly

PNS

Opposition BJP on Thursday created a ruckus in the State Assembly over Congress leader and Lok Sabha MP Adhir Ranjan Choudhury’s utterance against President Droupadi Murmu.

The House failed to transact any business after the members of the saffron party trooped into the Well holding placards. Speaker Bikram Keshari Arukha adjourned the House from 10:34 am to 4 pm.

BJP Chief Whip Mohan Majhi condemned Choudhury’s offensive language against the President.

The BJP members demanded an apology from Congress president Sonia Gandhi and stern action against Choudhury for the “character assassination” of the President.

Despite repeated requests by the Speaker to the BJP members to leave the Well, they did not pay any heed to it.

After the House was adjourned, the BJP members carrying posters and placards protested outside the House.
