As expected, veteran Ollywood actress Aparajita Mohanty, who had resigned from the Congress recently, joined the BJP in the presence of Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, BJP State vice-president Sameer Mohanty and other senior leaders at the party’s State headquarters here on Monday.
Aparajita said the BJP and development are two sides of a coin. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has put the country’s development and technology on the world map. The ideology and working style of the Prime Minister for a developed India attracted her to join the party.
“I was inspired by PM Modi who has vowed to provide pucca house to every household, employment to all youths and security to women. I seek cooperation from every member of the party to take forward the ideologies of the Prime Minister for building a better Odisha,” she said soon after joining the party.
“I thank all members of BJP for giving me such an opportunity to connect with the public. It is the best platform to serve people of Odisha,” the actress added.
Besides, many Congress and BJD leaders and workers of the Talcher Municipality area also joined the BJP on the day.
