Dr Sitaram Mohapatra, former Professor and Head of the Pathology Department of SCB Medical College here, who was recently shifted to the Health and Family Welfare Department by the Government following his alleged sexual torture of some women PG students, has sought anticipatory bail from the Odisha High Court.
The absconding professor, in his petition to the High Court, has alleged that the allegations levelled against him are false and baseless and attempts have been made to malign him.
Dr Mohapatra, who has gone on a long leave since the allegations against him were made by the students and junior doctors, was relieved of his duty by the Health and Family Welfare Department through e-mail.
According to the Commissionerate police, they have been looking for the fugitive professor but have not been able to nab him despite a series of raids.
