The Balani police under Keonjhar district have arrested and court forwarded Ariya Steel senior manager Shiva Ram K Bhatt for death of two labours in explosions in the factory on April 7.
However, Bhatt managed to get bail. The police are also on the lookout for senor manager Ramakanta Rout, engineer Santosh Rana, mechanical department head Muthuraj and contractor supervisor Dhaneswar Patra, who have been accused of negligence for the explosion.
labourers, mainly those engaged by the contractors, are sacrificing their lives for lack of safety in the working place in Joda- Barbil mining and industrial area. The factory Inspector who is required to regularly check the safety of the working places rarely visits the sites.
Some months back, one contract labour while working nearer molten metal in the FAP, Joda, was also found dead and his body was hanging from a tree.
But after the joining of Mukesh Bhamu as the SDPO, Barbil , the police have been active.
