Odisha may witness above-normal rainfall in September as a low pressure is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal next week.
The low pressure area is likely to form over north and adjoining central Bay of Bengal o around September 6, predicted the Regional Meteorological Centre here.
Due to this, above-normal rainfall activity is expected, reducing the deficit rainfall between June and August.
Meanwhile, the IMD issued heavy rainfall and thunderstorm alert for several districts of Odisha till September 7.
