AAP observes 'Betrayal Day' across State

PNS

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) observed the one-year completion of demonetisation as a “Betrayal Day” here and district headquarters towns across the State on Wednesday.

Party activists carrying a symbolic corpse of demonetisation  moved in a rally to the RBI office and held a protest meeting there. The party too held similar

rallies at district Collectors’ offices.

“While declaring demonetisation on November 8, 2016, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the move would check circulation of black money and fake notes and stop terrorism completely. But it is disappointing that as many as 649 persons died during the last year after demonetisation as per the South Asia Terrorism Portal,” rued activists.

They said earnings of 94 per cent of people, who are working in unorganised sectors, were affected severely due to demonetisation. The demonetisation also caused deaths to 150 people and impacted agriculture sector severely.
