As many as about 90 Government officers and employees, both retired and working, and around 60 leaders belonging to various political parties have taken more than one plot of land into their possession under the discretionary quota. If sources are to be believed, the Taskforce, formed to look into land grab and allotment of land and houses under the discretionary quota, has found this during its investigation.
The Taskforce, headed by Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue) Taradatt, submitted its report in the Chief Minister’s Office on October 31, the sources said. The Urban Development Secretary and the BDA Vice-Chairman were the other members of the Taskforce. The Taskforce had been asked to submit its report within four months and to take action against the culprits.
