Even as over seven months have passed since the mega Janibili water supply project was inaugurated, it has not been made operative and, thus, residents of Brahmapur are still facing problems in availing water to meet their daily need.
Even pipes have not been laid to all households in the city. It was revealed at a review meeting held at the Collectorate at Chhatrapur under the chairmanship of district Collectgor Vijay Amtruta Kulange.
The Collector directed all concerned to expedite project work and ensure that all households in the city get pipe water by January 2020.
He also warned that action would be taken against those who would be neglecting the work.
Besides, he directed the contractual agency to undertake the pipe-laying work during night hours as the work in the daytime creates traffic problem.
Besides, Kulange asked concerned electricity officials to provide information about underground cabling to the agency so that there would be no problem in lying of water pipes.
