A team comprising Jagatsinghpur District Social Security Officers Harendra Kumar Dehuryand Ranjit Kumar Choudhury and Social Security Empowerment of Persons with Disablity (SSEPD) officials rescued seven mentally-challenged people from different places here.
While one of the rescued was lodged in the Nuagaon old age home, the rest six people were taken to the "Mission Asha" at Jaanla in Khorda district for treatment.
Paradip PS IIC Subhranshu Sekhar Nayak and his staff helped the team in rescue operation.
Among others, social worker Jaladhara Nayak, environmentalist Ayaskanta Ray, Paradip Nagarika Mancha members and mediapersons extended cooperation.
