After the weekend shutdown, the vaccination drive against Covid-19 began across the State on Monday except at a few places due to unavailability of vaccines.
In Cuttack, the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium has been converted into a temporary mega vaccination centre for those above 45 years of age. People queued up at the stadium to get their final vaccination. The stadium is spacious which can help maintain adequate physical distance during the drive, the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) said.The vaccination which began from 9 am continues till 12 pm and resumes at 3 pm for two hours. On Monday, more than 600 people were vaccinated.
Cuttack DCP Prateek Singh personally monitored compliance of the Covid-appropriate behaviour due to the heavy rush. “People were given tokens and advised to come as per their allotted slots,” Singh said.
