Six proxy students were detected appearing at the HSC examination in correspondence course at the Mahtab High School of Pallahara under Pallahara Police Station on Tuesday.
Centre superintendent Niranjan Parida confirmed the report. He said Rasmita Sahu, an invigilator, suspected one candidate and immediately informed about the matter to the deputy superintendent and centre superintendent. Soon a thorough check was conducted and the proxy examinees were caught red-handed. They were appearing the examination for six others. The authorities handed them over to the police.
They were identified as Rajesh Kumar Palei, Satyaban Gaud, Rajesh Maharana, Sankar Biswal, NK Reddy and K Chandra Sekhar Rao. They were appearing for Sunil Behera, Tapan Kumar Raut, Pradip Kumar Das, Ajay Naik, D Santosh Reddy and K Nageswar Rao respectively.
Meanwhile, the police have arrested them and a case of forgery under Section 40/17 was registered.
