The Puri Kumbharpada police on Friday arrested six persons for their alleged involvement in ransacking the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) after the death of a patient on Wednesday night.
Puri Superintendent of Police Sarthak Sarangi informed that the six persons were arrested on the basis of CCTV footages.
Notably, one Nabakishore Jena of Batagaon had been admitted to the hospital on Wednesday night as he complained of chest pain. Though doctors declared him brought dead, his family members alleged that he died due to negligence in treatment at the hospital.
The irate family members of Jena had ransacked the hospital by smashing chairs, tables, computers, ACs, lights and oxygen cylinders and manhandled the doctors.
