Commissioner of Police of Bhubaneswar-Cuttack RP Sharma on Thursday assured the VSS Nagar Unnayan Parishad that an alternative six-foot-wide road along with a proper traffic system from the Satsang Vihar to the Vani Vihar Square would be provided soon to the commuters of the VSS Nagar and other adjoining areas till a permanent sub-way is completed.
Sharma gave this assurance at meeting held between him and Parishad members here on Thursday.
Notably, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) had on Thursday told a team of parishad representatives at a meeting that an all weather sub-way at Satsang Vihar is being constructed for convenience of VSS Nagar side people. It would take two to three months for completion of the sub-way.
It may be noted here that after the newly constructed highway was made operational from Vani Vihar railway over bridge to Jaydev Vihar recently, the road pass at Satsang Vihar was closed, putting trouble for the residents of the VSS Nagar and its adjoining areas to move to thye Saheed Nagar and interior parts of the city.
The parishad team led by Dillip Dashsharma had submitted also a memorandum to the NHAI Regional Officer
lP Padhee.
