As a corona positive patient died and six others were detected positive at a place in Surat where he was staying, a panicked 55-year-old Sridhar Sahu pedalled around 1,200 km in last 25 days to reach here from Surat.

Sahu, a resident of Malada in Jajpur district’s Bari area, has been staying near Gopa chowk for some months. He was eking out his living by working in a shop. Earlier, he had worked as a daily wager in Surat. He decided to visit to Dwarika Dham and bring back his belongings from Surat on return way. He left for Dwarika on February 11, 2020. After visiting the Dwarika Dham, he stayed at Surat with his earlier co-workers. Even, he too worked as a daily wager for some days there.

In the meantime, six persons were detected positive for coronavirus there and subsequently one of them died. Panicked over the development, Sahu decided to return to Kendrapada. As all public transports were closed due to the countrywide lockdown, he started pedaling towards home on March 29. He reached Gopa Chowk on April 22.

Now, he is lodged in a quarantine ward.
