As many as five persons, including a juvenile of Sundargarh district, were arrested and forwarded to court on Wednesday, allegedly for raping a minor girl in the district.
Accordingly to sources, mother of the minor girl, a native of Barsuan, works at Delhi as a labourer. One youth under the Brahmani Tarang police limits, identified as Bikas Tirkey (25) while working at Delhi, had come in contact with the mother of minor girl. While Bikas had come to her home in Sundargarh, the mother of the minor girl had requested Bikas to take her daughter with him to Delhi on Monday.
On Saturday, the minor girl had come to her uncle’s house at Chikatmati. Bikas had had called her on Sunday evening near his house at Bhalupatra as per a plan. When she reached there, Bikas and his four other friends lifted her to Sankha river bed where she was gang-raped. The youths also threatened the minor girl to kill her if she revealed about her rape.
On Monday, the victim told about her rape to her uncle and the duo lodged a FIR in the Brahmani Tarang police station.
The arrested were identified Amit Kispatta(22), Prasant Toppo(19), Rabin Kispatta(28) and a 17 year old boy, apart from as Bikas.
