To enable the administration to provide efficient services, the State Government on Tuesday decided to recruit as many as 40,000 youths against vacant posts in various departments within next six months.
The decision in this regard was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, who held discussion with the heads of various departments.
Patnaik also directed the concerned officials to complete the recruitment process within the six months and asked the Empowered Committee headed by the Finance Secretary to ensure an early approval of the Finance Department.
Since the rules for recruitment have already been streamlined, sources said, the Chief Minister told the Empowered Committee to expedite the process of recruitment in consultation with the departmental committees.
The sources said vacancies for primary and secondary school teachers, doctors, executive engineers, paramedical staff, revenue officials and police personnel besides the Secretariat Section Officers posts would be filled up. The decision would help solve the unemployment problem in the State.
