The Khantapada police in Baleswar district on Wednesday arrested four persons of a racket involved in fake Hanuman coin transaction from a lodge here.
They were identified as Dillip Palei(32) of Ghatagaon, Pradip Sethi(48) of Darada, Basta, Dudhiram Marndi(36) of Basta Brundaban Nagar and Rupel Soren(60) of Ramachandrapur, Barang.
“Dillip Palei, the main accused, was nabbed with a Hanuman coin. He was planning to sell it to other accused persons at Rs 2 crore. The seized coin would be sent to Bhubaneswar for laboratory test,” said Khantapada PS IIC Surendra Nayak.
In yet another incident, the Khantapada police arrested an agent working for several deposit collection companies. Irate depositors had handed over the accused, Shantilata Saw (55) of Chattrapur village. They alleged that Shantilata has duped them of thousands of rupees.
