A four-day 64th Congress of Indian Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (ISTAM 2019) organised at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bhubaneswar began here on Monday. Prof Guirong Liu from University of Cincinnati, USA graced the occasion as chief guest in the programme presided over by IIT BBS Director Prof RV Raja Kumar.
“The four-day long deliberations will lead to fruitful discussions and research collaboration that would benefit the society,” said Prof Kumar.
The congress attracts a large number of delegates from India and abroad and is immensely beneficial for students, academicians, researchers, professionals from various public and private sector and industries.
Among others, ISTAM Chairman Prof PVSN Murthy, Secretary DK Maiti, Dean Continuing Education Prof Swarup Kumar Mahapatra, School of Basic Sciences Head Dr TVS Sekhar, School of Mechanical Sciences Head Dr Mihir Kumar Pandit and IIT BBS ISTAM Organising Secretary Dr Arun Kumar Pradhan were present.
