32 kids given 'expired' medicines in Khordha

PNS

Thirty-two children were on Tuesday hospitalised with complaints of diarrhoea and nausea after being administered date-expired de-worming medicines at an Anganwadi centre at Chhatua village under Begunia block in Khordha district. The children, all under the age of five, were admitted in the Government hospital at Bolagarh, sources said.

“We shall make sure that such incidents are not repeated in the future. We will take strong action against those found guilty. We are going to examine the entire stock of the medicine in the district today itself,” the Khordha ADMO told reporters after the matter came to light.

Tension prevailed in the village following the incident.
